Many can agree that the all-new Focus RS is a great car to own but is it priced correctly? While the sports hatch has yet to make it across the Atlantic pond into the US, Ford has already teased that the vehicle will retail from $35,900. This is about $250 more than rival Volkswagen Golf R.
Well, the advantage is still with the Focus RS because the vehicle has got 58hp more to offer than the Volkswagen Golf R. The Focus RS relies on the 2.3L 4-cylinder EcoBoost turbo engine that can generate a total of 350hp and 350ft-lbs of torque.
Despite having the better figures, it is the Golf R is not far behind the Focus RS. The former can sprint from 0-60mph in 5.2 seconds whereas the latter clocks it in 4.7 seconds.
Base on stats alone, it is clear that the Focus RS is the superior car and the price gap should have been bigger by its standards. The fact that the Focus RS has a sticker price of $35,900 makes it sound like a steal.
