Those who buy Fords all new Focus RS typically are performance freaks. That said, a large majority of Focus RS owners will likely purchase the car, drive it for a few months, get comfortable with the car, then the bug bites hard and the craving for more power kicks in.
That’s where renowned tuner Mountune comes in. They are well known for their abilities to massage power out of the Ford Fiesta ST and Focus ST, and now they have a host of upgrades that are available for the new Focus RS. The only catch is that the initial parts list form the tuner will not generate more power, but rather help the driver better utilize the factory power. Parts like silicone boost hoses for the turbocharger, high-flow air filter, upgraded rear engine mount a short-shift linkage, and a Quaife limited-slip front differential are all available to give the driver more direct connection to the car, and to allow the car to more directly transfer power to the road.
Engine performance upgrades are going to follow shortly as an ECU upgrade is already in the testing phase. But if you can’t wait, you can go to Mountune’s website and start picking up the currently available parts and start to appease that pesky modifying bug.
