While it hasn’t yet arrived to dealerships in the US, the 2016 Ford Focus RS is rapidly leaving dealer lots over in the UK, so much so that Ford is going to be depleted of stock soon.
This is largely because Blue Oval has decided to restrict the amount of sales to merely 4,000 units in the UK. So far there are only about 500 units left for grabs, according to Cars UK.
Once all alloted units are sold, buyers would have to wait until stock for the 2017 model arrives. This basically means that the 2016 Focus RS is an endangered species, just like its muscle sibling, the Ford Mustang.
Unlike the 350hp, 350lb-ft torque hot hatch, there isn’t a cap on the number of Mustangs that can be sold in the UK, but dealers have run out of stock nonetheless. The queue for the next batch of stock extends all the way through 2017, so in a way the 2016 Mustang is already as good as gone for many.
Cars UK offers hope, however, by reporting that there are customers who cancel their Mustang or Focus RS orders, perhaps due to impatience. So for those who are diligent enough to hunt down the freed up orders, you may be in luck.
